What is the Mango Tour all about?
The Mango Tour is an exercise in education, building relationships, offering support and spreading awareness of the plight of women globally.
Samantha Backman has pulled together a film crew and an amazing assortment of people all with one thing on their mind. Making a difference and let’s be LOUD about it.
The trip aims to bring awareness and raise funds to support the abuse of women, weather it be rape, FGM or domestic violence.
This tour aims to deliver the message like never before, using humor and truth.
Samantha says, the biggest misconception people have about the past is thinking it must be carried into the future. It shouldn’t! The past is simply for us to learn what to do in the future. We have tended to use the excuse of Culture to excuse ourselves from forward thinking, what was done by our forefathers is not necessarily the way of the future. One characteristic of truth says Samantha is that it needs no defense: it is self-evident. That “all men are created equal” requires no justification or rhetorical persuasion. That it is wrong to abuse, torture and mutilate women, (or anyone for that fact), is self-evident; it requires no argument.
The only way to enhance change is by increasing our integrity, understanding, and capacity for compassion. If the diverse populations of mankind can be brought to this realization, the survival of human society and happiness of its members is secure. We are fully accountable whether we like it or not say Samantha.
The trip will be filmed as a part of Samantha’s TV show, “A Bloody Brilliant Life” as well as a behind the scenes type documentary filled with interview of some of the team and some amazing people along the way. This trip is the first of its kind and will certainly raise some eyebrows and smiles.
