PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO XL
1. Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Samantha Backman; I am a Homo toxicologist and business woman, running several successful companies in the health and wellness field. Homo toxicology is all about self poisoning of the human body. Until recently, I worked in the private hospital medical system with degenerative diseases, which are diet and lifestyle related. I went into studying medicine after a cancer scare. Several years later, when I visited my doctor due to unexplained bleeding, I realized the problem was back again. Instinctively, I knew there had to be another way. Whether by co-incidence or fate, I was given a book that looked at the association between diet, lifestyle and disease rates. I read it from cover to cover and two days later I began eating only natural unprocessed foods. This was a drastic move for someone who had been raised on a farm, eating everything from the tongue to testicles of an animal, with ‘boiled to death’ vegetables, followed by sugary desserts. I stopped eating all processed foods; bread, pasta, cereals, processed grains and, of course, sugar The fact was that after many years of studies, I discovered that nearly 80% of diseases are diet related. In other words, eight out of every ten people are feeding themselves their own disease. I call it, “death by knife and food”. I was once one of those eight out of ten! The average person might think that being raised on a farm was the perfect environment for a clean, healthy upbringing. In my case, not so! Our food was cooked to death; high in sugars and processed grains; and all sorts of chemicals and sprays were used on the animals and in the fields. (Not to mention the chemicals I was using on my own body - shampoos, deodorants, perfumes etc.) In fact, one of the chemical fertilizers used on our farm was a product called “Super”. I had read recently that when “Super” was banned in Israel, their cancer rate dropped by 30%. That piece of information certainly got my attention!
With the diet and lifestyle changes I had made, my life began to change. The first thing I noticed was that I had amazing amounts of energy. I felt totally in control. And with this feeling of control, came a sense of urgency and a desire to tell the world about my newfound lifestyle.
All of this is what led me to further study Nutritional Biochemistry with the view of bringing health to the world. I soon found out the world was not ready to be as healthy as I wanted it to be.
I kept studying. I read everything I could relating to diet and food related diseases; including dozens of books on personal development. I listened to motivational self-help tapes and watched videos on nutrition and disease. To say the least, I was consumed with understanding how human beings function; physically, emotionally and spiritually.
The thing that astounds me most is that with all the research available into diet and disease, most people still look to someone who specializes in disease management, rather than disease prevention. Many times a day, I found myself saying to patients, “Don’t wait until it’s too late. Make the decision to invest in your health today - it’s far cheaper than the cost of disease."
It never ceases to amaze me that our natural biological diet and lifestyle habits are the true way to heal not only the body, but also the mind and spirit.
With seven years of study completed, I became fully committed to inspire and teach people to discover unbelievable health, energy and freedom from degenerative diseases. I believe what you put in your body several times per day – every day – has far more impact on your well being than anything else you do. I believe it’s about time we started taking charge of ourselves and our health and stopped digging our graves with our teeth, hence homo toxicology became my passion and so did the wellness industry as apposed to disease management industry
I believe people are now at the point of understanding that they are responsible for their health and that the quality of their life is directly proportionate to their lifestyle.
2. What is your personal position ? (Children? Where do you live? What is your occupation?)
I have 4 children, two girls and two boys, 3 have left home and one, a daughter, is still in school.
These days with businesses in several counties I live between the Gold Coast, Australia, India, Dubai and Malaysia.
I have mostly given up medicines and seeing patients and spend my time educating the public on self-care and selling innovative health products globally. I do an ABC radio program every Sunday in Australia, which is obviously pre-recorded due to all my travels. The show is based on healthy living tips.
Two of the greatest joys in my life these days are as a lifestyle speaker, where I love to share with people simple, yet powerful health solutions that will slow the aging process, give unlimited energy and prevent the onset of degenerative diseases that are most common to western society and as a stand-up comedian, a good laugh never goes astray.
On top of that, through my experience with the ‘Extraordinary Lives’ organization, my life has never been better or more fulfilled!
3. What is your position in relation to XL?
I am a Life Member and will be a Master Practitioner by the time this article is printed! I was part of Crew for Entrepreneurs Business School, (EBS), in April 2007. I believe XL has been one of the best things that have ever happened to me. Roger is a genius and the rest are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.
4. How do you see your role in XL?
My business takes me traveling throughout the world and in doing so I am able to spread the word of XL. I believe that XL is the best system/path to reaching one’s ultimate destiny and wealth and hence I am very happy to tell the world. I believe XL is the wealth creation system that will pass the test of time, hence becoming an XL Master Practitioner.
5. What have your significant activities and accomplishments been in the past year?
Founding two new companies which are The Alicia International www.thealicia.com.au and A Bloody Brilliant Life with Samantha Backman www.samanthabackman.com. Having two television shows, one on healthy living and the other on healthy living and lifestyles with a look behind the scenes of my life and the story of my relationships with people behind the camera. I have finished 9 books covering topics all aimed at educating women in third world countries. Topics include health, diet, menstruation, and virginity, cultural beliefs that cause discrimination of women and the biology and physiology behind the female orgasm. I have a range of female hygiene products that have been launched in several countries and I am about to launch a meal replacement globally to stop obesity and the epidemic of diabetes.
6. What are your goals for the coming year?
To grow both companies in the Indian, Middle East, Asian Pacific and the US markets to the point of my products being well-known throughout these countries and to have opened up the European market. Setting up an educational program for third world women is also on the agenda for this year. Lastly to have my documentary go to air and appear on the Oprah show which is being organized in conjunction with the launch of my products in the US market.
7 . How has XL helped you?
For most of my life, I have done motivational seminars one after the other, reading hundreds of books, all in the search to find something that would inspire me to be the person I knew I could be. I have owned multiple businesses such as a jean shop, t-shirt printing business, restaurants, massage centers, hairdressing salons, a mail order health company,a business mentoring business, I have taught vegetarian and vegan cooking and have been in private practice as a nutritionist and Homo toxicologist.
Although I have been successful there was always something missing.
Many years ago I developed a 12-week program called “Women In Transition” (WIT), which was specially directed at women who wanted to find what I had found – a positive mental attitude, unlimited energy, youthfulness and a passion for life. The program was a huge success and everyone who attended went on to achieve goals they thought not possible. Many went back to school and into a job they always wanted to do. Others took control of their once mundane life and were instrumental in saving their marriages and/or relationships that were considered well past their used-by date prior to having participated in the WIT program. I think looking back the time was right.
The one problem I did find with all of that was that in some cases, things just didn’t hold over a period of time, and people could fall back into old habits. One attends a seminar or reads a book and feels really motivated for a week or two but as time goes on, you lose that motivation or the momentum. Looking back, I was one of those people where it never really held and I was continually searching for more even though I was teaching this stuff. I wasn’t just searching to be more positive or more motivated. In fact, I am one of the most positive people you could meet. Yet I was always searching for more, the ultimate life experience.
Nowadays, all this motivation stuff has proven to obviously work for some but for others, the path needs to be clearer, I was not looking for a positive attitude, I had that, I wanted more, much more, but didn’t know what it was, so with all my searching I kept missing it.
XL gave it to me, XL showed me my true nature and by following that path or the path of least resistance, which XL calls it, I found that my life had a natural structure that was meant to be followed.
In other words, I found the person I was meant to be. By doing so and by dropping a lot of things that were not in my best interest or in my natural flow, I found things not only starting to go right but more importantly nothing went wrong! This was the ultimate experience I had been searching for!
Things just happened… It was like all the forces of the universe were working to ensure that I reached my true destiny. It’s kind of scary and as the saying goes, “Be careful of what you wish for, because you just may get it!”
In the past, I would often spend energy on what I call “introvert” activities. By removing self doubt and going with activities that best suit my nature, my businesses have exceeded beyond expectations. I always knew in my heart that I was put on the planet to make a difference, that I was special, I am now finally living that person, with my own special uniqueness I am making a difference in peoples lives!
I found that by being clear on my focus and following the path that is right for me, that now as soon as I decide I want something to happen, it does so within weeks! I finally had a map, not just an attitude. There are plenty of positive people who are broke and never have the opportunity to make a difference to the millions that are crying for help.
A favorite story of mine is of a nursing home full of old and dying people. A doctor doing his rounds, approached an elderly woman who was crying. She said “Doctor, you don’t understand… I am not crying because I am dying. I am crying because I have never lived.”
Until a few years ago, I was concerned that that was how my life would end, by not living the life I was supposed to live. In finding my true destiny, I am now truly living my life with passion. I am my destiny, I am the person I was meant to be!
8. Has XL influenced your outlook on charities and if so, how?
I always thought you only gave to charities once you had made the money. I believe now that by giving from the onset it has helped me make the money. It has also opened up a part of my heart that I covered to protect from hurt. I believe that if others follow suit, we can end world poverty in the next few years. It is my belief that the biggest problem is a lack of governments that care and too much misappropriation of funds. It is time we as people came together to be the difference the world has been waiting for. Like the saying goes, the best thing you can do for the poor is not be one of them.
9. What advice would you give to people thinking of joining XL?
As Nike says: “Just do it!” I have now picked my working team according to the XL profiling system. This has been a major reason for my success. Over the years, I have been a part of many networking organizations. Being able to pick people according to their profile has allowed me to not waste time with business contacts that are not in-line with my path. I have spent over $35,000 USD on XL in the past year and it has all come back to me with many extra zeros!
10. Any additional information or comments that you would like to add?
It’s never too late to be what you might have been. Take the opportunity to learn who you are and follow your true path before it is too late. We are all here for humanity and we are all here to make a difference. Become the destiny you were created to be and allow others to be the same! Never listen to well wishers, listen to what is in your heart. This is the only way you will reach that destiny.
I learned some time ago, that friends and family, who supposedly have your best interests at heart, never walk in your shoes. So how can you take advice from anyone other than yourself? Listening to people with a different profile, their advice would only be what is “right” for them, which is not necessarily “right” for you. It’s OK to listen, but your heart knows the answers best for you. Follow your heart and your intuition, they are your best guides, but first know your nature.
Love and hugs for a brilliant life!
